Theatre that holds what hurts.
Stories of grief, love, and endurance - for the ones who stayed.
The work beneath the words
At Heart & Ash, we don’t start with a plot. We start with a feeling. A need. A nervous system that remembers too much and speaks in stories. Our work is born in the quiet, the heavy, the real. Sometimes, it arrives fully formed. Sometimes, it’s a whisper we follow until it takes shape.
We create theatre for the ones who carry the hard thing—and still dare to love. For the people who feel too much, who’ve been told they’re too quiet, too intense, or too soft. For those who’ve stayed in the room when it would’ve been easier to leave.
Our characters speak the inside thoughts. They name grief, hope, fear, and mercy. We don’t clean up their pain. We don’t apologize for their love. We let them be honest—and we let the audience feel it too.
Heart & Ash was founded as a way to perform one play on our own terms. But it’s become more than that. It’s a home for stories that haven’t been told yet. A place where pain becomes connection, and silence becomes witness.
Our shows don’t promise resolution. They promise presence. They invite you to feel what you’ve been carrying—and to know you don’t have to carry it alone.
We believe survival is an act of creation. We believe theatre is a place to exhale. And we believe that if you leave our work feeling even a little more seen, a little more human, we’ve done what we came here to do.
This is the work beneath the words.
This is Heart & Ash Productions.
